Implemented in Montreal and elsewhere in Quebec, this project aims to foster the necessary transformations of our living environments, particularly in terms of mobility and the built environment, while ensuring that they benefit the most vulnerable populations, so that no one is left behind.

At the interface of two challenges – the climate crisis and growing inequalities – the project fits perfectly with the theme of this year’s Montreal Climate Summit, “So that everyone wins”. Collaborations developed during previous editions of the city’s annual climate summit helped create the conditions for the project’s success.

This project addresses a systemic issue related to investment decisions in public infrastructure and urban planning. It is consistent with the McConnell Foundation’s mission to support an inclusive, resilient and sustainable society. In addition, this project will promote the development of a more equitable, zero-carbon economy, in line with our climate sphere of interest.

Jane Rabinowicz

President and CEO, McConnell Foundation

The Low-Carbon, Inclusive and Equitable Urban Transformations project has demonstrated a real impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
