Greater Montreal Climate Fund awards a $15,000 grant to IVÉO

Montréal, June 7, 2024. The Greater Montreal Climate Fund is awarding a $15,000 grant to the NPO IVÉO to support its project for an educational tool aimed at municipal officials to help them make the right decisions about decarbonization. Presented in the form of a workshop, this educational tool has been designed to meet their financial and environmental challenges.

It will raise awareness of the following ideas in the municipal world:

  • Not all actions to reduce emissions and promote “sustainable development” have the same impact;
  • The reality of budgetary constraints forces us to prioritize choices from the point of view of environmental efficiency and financial profitability;
  • Some choices are more far-reaching than others, requiring foresight and anticipation;
    Things have to be done in order;
  • Collaboration with other municipalities is essential, because the environment knows no borders.

It will be possible to discover this educational tool from October 8 to 10, 2024 at the International Summit on Innovation in Median Cities (SIIViM) in Drummondville, an annual event supported by IVÉO, Mission Ecoter, the Union des municipalités du Québec (UMQ) and the City of Drummondville.
