Reducing emissions in the food supply chain

Sustainable logistics for local food

Module image

Laval en circuits courts aims to decarbonize the food supply logistics chain for institutions, businesses and food safety organizations. The project pools the supply of biofood farmers and artisans in the North Shore, and delivers it to food professionals in Greater Montreal via optimized distribution, including electric trucks and cargo bikes.

This green logistics system facilitates access to local products by reducing the cost and complexity of supply. After a test phase in 2022, the project will be extended in 2025, with ambitious objectives: more producers and buyers involved, improved delivery times, and a further reduction in GHG emissions.

Reducing the distances between farmers and our plates is a question of environmental common sense, food autonomy and the pleasure of eating food that tastes good!
