Driven by a Shared Momentum

Montreal, North America’s Climate Metropolis

his special anniversary edition of the Montreal Climate Summit was held under the theme Montreal, North America’s Climate Metropolis. Panel discussions, workshops, keynote addresses, and conversations set the pace for a day dedicated to highlighting concrete actions, structural solutions, and cross-sector collaborations, all driven by a shared momentum: accelerating the transition, strengthening resilience, and consolidating Montreal’s climate leadership.

True to past editions, the Montreal Climate Summit 2026 provided a platform for several organizations to launch major initiatives in support of the socio-ecological transition. Among them, the Fonds Climat du Grand Montréal unveiled two new partnerships aimed at supporting the climate leadership of municipalities and Indigenous communities across the Greater Montreal area: one with the Institut de la résilience et de l’innovation urbaine, and the other with the Raven Indigenous Impact Foundation.

Quote from the Montreal Climate Partnership Team

Accelerating the climate transition requires bridging the gap between expertise, funding, and on-the-ground capacity for action. The partnerships announced by the Fonds Climat du Grand Montréal exemplify this approach and will help strengthen the conditions for success needed to advance resilience and decarbonization at the metropolitan scale.
