A team determined to accelerate decarbonization

With over 20 years’ experience in management for a multinational aviation company and then for the cleantech cluster, Karine is an expert in operations, administration, IT, human resources and financial management. Over the course of her career, she has had the opportunity to hold positions of great responsibility and to manage dozens of people.

Her interest in the environmental cause began two decades ago. She implemented numerous eco-responsible actions on a personal level and influenced her peers to act in an eco-conscious way. In 2021, she decided to devote all her energy to reducing climate change by joining Écotech. Two years later, she joined the Climate Fund as Coordinator.

Karine is a pragmatic woman who enjoys being at the heart of operations. She analyzes internal processes, identifies friction points and implements strategies to optimize them with ease. Active for over 18 years in the field of climate change, the environment and sustainable development, Vincent is recognized for his management and strategic development skills in the NPO sector, as well as for his ability to mobilize stakeholders.

For nearly ten years, he worked within the network of Regional Environmental Councils (RECs), where he held the position of General Manager of the Regroupement national des Conseils régionaux de l’environnement du Québec (RNCREQ). He also held the position of Executive Vice-President at Écotech Québec, Quebec’s cleantech industry cluster. Finally, in 2022, he took over as CEO of the Fonds Climat du Grand Montréal, with a new objective: to mobilize financial capital to accelerate the decarbonization of the Greater Montreal.

Throughout his career, Vincent has acted as a strategic advisor to governments, municipalities and institutions in the development of policies, action plans and consultative initiatives in the fields of climate change, the environment and sustainable development. In particular, he co-hosted the Quebec government’s tour of ministers for the development of the Politique-cadre d’électrification et de lutte contre les changements climatiques.

Highly involved in the community, he has sat on a number of ministerial committees and boards of directors. He is currently President of the Fonds québécois du développement durable (FAQDD) and sits on the CIRODD Joint Steering Committee. Vincent has also sat on the Minister’s Advisory Committee on Climate Change, the Advisory Committee on the development of the Sustainable Mobility Policy and the Advisory Committee on the Organic Matter Recovery Strategy. Finally, he has been involved on the boards of SWITCH (Alliance pour une économie verte), the Institut Hydro-Québec en environnement, développement et société (now Institut EDS), the Centre québécois du droit de l’environnement (CQDE) and Territoires innovants en économie sociale et solidaire (TIESS).

Kenza holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and a Master’s degree in International Law, and has been working for several years in organizations fighting climate change. Her diverse experience has enabled her to work on a multitude of issues linked to environmental protection and the reduction of GHG emissions.

Her professional career began at UNESCO, where Kenza worked as a consultant to facilitate the work of scientists in maritime zones under the jurisdiction of coastal states. She then took up a position as a simplification consultant, working with government bodies to clarify complex legal content. She later joined a Montreal community organization, where she contributed to greening initiatives in the boroughs.

Committed and aware of the scale of the efforts required to achieve carbon neutrality, Kenza finally joined the Fonds Climat du Grand Montréal to manage subsidized projects and develop GHG reduction programs.

Ted has over 20 years of experience in strategy, program design, industry and government relations in the renewable energy, construction and sustainable development sectors.

Former CEO of the Canadian Heat Pump Industry Association, Ted has led the design, structuring and execution of projects for private and quasi-public sector clients, local and national governments, financial institutions and insurance companies. His clients have benefited from his expertise in renewable energy, cleantech, transport, water and social infrastructure.

Her career in sustainable development began with projects designed according to Cradle-to-Cradle™ industrial design methodologies in 2002. Before embarking on his career in sustainable development, Ted worked on international humanitarian projects in Argentina, Poland, the USA, Kosovo and Kyrgyzstan. His extensive travels have made him a polyglot, as he is fluent in five languages.

Ted holds a B.A. from Rutgers University (USA) and an MBA from McGill University. He also holds several certificates in project evaluation and budgeting, and a LEED.

With a university degree in brand strategy and digital communications, Inès is passionate about the right words and clear messages. She is firmly convinced that there can be no good communications strategy without a consistent message and rigorous application.

Organized and enterprising by nature, Inès has a “solutions-oriented” mindset that she enjoys applying on a daily basis, whatever the type of project – and preferably as part of a team! Her diverse professional experience in start-ups, cultural organizations and advertising agencies makes her a Swiss Army knife of communications.

Keen to realign her deeply held convictions with her job, Inès joins the Climate Fund as Communications Manager in winter 2023 with a clear objective: to spread the word about the fund’s decarbonization initiatives in the Greater Montreal area.

Sebastian has over 20 years’ experience in structured finance, project finance, corporate finance and trade finance, including 12 years in impact investing.

He has led the origination, structuring and execution of these financings for sub-sovereign entities and public companies, financial institutions and international corporates, via syndications, Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and blended financings, in the renewable energy and clean technology, transportation, waste management and social infrastructure sectors. From Paris, Bangkok, Manila and Guadeloupe, he has worked in over 40 emerging countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as in Europe.

Aware of the urgency of taking action against climate change, he joined the Greater Montreal Climate Fund to implement impactful responsible investment strategies in the region.
