Dedicated to the community housing sector!
The Community Housing Transformation Centre and Concordia University are envisioning a just transition model in which technology becomes a catalyst for empowerment and social cohesion in support of community housing.
The project’s pilot phase, supported by the Greater Montréal Climate Fund, involves modelling approximately 30 buildings across Greater Montréal in order to integrate high-performance energy efficiency interventions. Expected impacts include reduced energy consumption and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
But that’s not all. Beyond climate gains, the solution has been designed to help preserve affordable housing, strengthen the organizational capacity of housing managers, and improve the quality of life of households—including low-income households, seniors, single-parent families, newcomers, and people with disabilities.
